A look behind the making of Three Kings, my new silk scarf and tie designed for the British Museum’s Bayeux Tapestry exhibition, inspired by the kings, creatures and extraordinary imagery of the nearly thousand-year-old embroidery.

Designing this scarf was particularly nostalgic, the abstract zig zags and concentric circles transported me back to my art history classes at school and a trip to Newgrange, Ireland's most celebrated neolithic monument. Lino prints with their rugged liveliness proved to be particularly successful for representing these ancient stones and the material culture that surrounds them.
