Inspired by the traditions and trophies of equestrian sport, Champion transforms a collection of hand-carved horse and riding motifs into a bold repeating pattern.
A portrait of a beloved horse sits at the heart of the design, surrounded by prize cups, rosettes, riding crops, boots and snaffle bits. Repeated across the scarf in a geometric arrangement, these sporting emblems create an almost heraldic pattern.
Each element was originally drawn, carved and printed by hand as a linocut before being brought together to create the finished composition and translated onto silk in Italy.
At 70cm square, Champion is an especially versatile size, large enough to wear loosely around the neck while remaining easy to fold and tie.
