Drawing Room 90 celebrates the wonderfully layered character of the historic interior, where objects collected across generations sit comfortably side by side.
Tasselled curtains, gilt pier glasses, rococo ornament, ancestral portraits and upholstered furniture mingle with the more modern addition of an Art Deco telephone and gramophone, creating an imagined room in which centuries of taste and collecting coexist.
The design reflects Rory Hutton’s fascination with historic houses, decorative arts and interiors that have evolved over time, rather than being created all at once. Each element began as an original hand-carved linocut before being brought together into the finished composition and translated onto silk in Italy.
Rendered in a vivid pink and ivory palette, Drawing Room 90 combines the romance of the historic interior with the bold graphic quality of linocut printmaking.
