Inspired by the romance of Italian gardens and the tradition of the Grand Tour, the Italian Garden scarf brings together a collection of architectural and botanical details gathered from travels through Italy.
Classical columns, sculptural urns, potted palms, citrus fruits, shells and garden statuary are arranged around an imagined Italian garden at its centre. Peacocks drawn in Ravenna wander amongst the motifs, while the deep green ground is finished with a flash of orange at the border, inspired by the colour of an Aperol Spritz.
Each element began as a drawing before being carved into lino and printed by hand, preserving the distinctive marks and textures of the printmaking process in the finished design.
Printed in Italy on silk twill and finished with rolled edges.
