A smaller companion to the Italian Garden scarf, Italian Terrace is inspired by the potted plants and ornamental birds found on terraces and in gardens throughout Italy.
Palms, citrus trees and lush foliage are arranged in decorative urns and terracotta pots, joined by peacocks drawn during travels in Ravenna. The repeating composition has the feeling of a small, imagined Italian terrace, framed by an elegant scrolling border and a flash of Aperol orange.
Each motif began as a drawing before being carved into lino and printed by hand, bringing the character and texture of traditional printmaking to the finished silk.
Printed in Italy on silk twill and finished with rolled edges.
